Press Release

Date: March 3, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Nancy Mace released the following statement Thursday after voting in favor of the H.R. 3967 The Honoring Our PACT Act:

"Our veterans were willing to die for our country in the line of duty. No price is too high and no sacrifice is too great when it comes to caring for the health of our incredibly brave service men and women,"said Rep. Nancy Mace. "As someone whose father was harmed by Agent Orange exposure in the Vietnam War, I recognize the importance of protecting the health of the many generations of veterans that were exposed to a wide range of toxic chemicals while serving. The country should not penny-pinch on protecting veterans' health."

This legislation helps millions of veterans, including those exposed to burn pits after September 11, 2001, atomic veterans, and Vietnam veterans, and was supported by leaders from the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. (VFW), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), The American Legion (TAL), Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Blinded Veterans Association (BVA), Minority Veterans of America (MVA), and Burn Pits 360 showcased their support for the comprehensive bipartisan package.

The bill passed 256 to 174.
